Anoushka Shakar, one of the American and British sitarist. She received the British House of Commons' Shield, which is the youngest and first female recipient. As she's appeared on every major stage in all over the globe, her career on stage has been extensive. Anoushka Shankar's work isn't only limited to performing in music. Bapi: The Love of My Live is her 2002 novel, and was a tribute to Ravi Shankar. In addition, she has appeared in a number of films. In 2003, she played the role in the film Dance Like a Man where she plays an aspiring Bharat Natyam performer. Four years later she performed her sitar debut in Delhi at her father's 75th birthday party. Anoushka gained numerous valuable experience by accompanying her dad when he toured the world. She was the only female recipient of the House of Commons Shield awarded by the British Parliament to recognize her musicianship and talent as an outstanding musician from music in Asian Arts.
